I wish you would come home sooner. Not only because I miss you and want to see you...but this thing is ugly and as soon as you get home, the old hoopty finds a new home. I think you could fit 10 dead bodies in the trunk.
I can't believe June is almost over already. It had a very cold rainy beginning but it has finally turned into shirt sleeve weather, thank goodness. I thought I'd just post a few pictures to high light the month of June. This is a pretty goofy looking picture but the reason I am showing it is because I actually learned how to take a picture with the timer on my camera. I was totallyamazed that I figured it out. This is Elder Batey showing his big catch in cabtree lake. Yes fish this big are really in our little lake here on the Ranch.
We went for a three hour bike ride one day on our P day. It was so fun. There is an old railroad track that has been made into a bike trail that we went on.
Me on the bike ride.
Harry having a rest on the bike ride.
Ahhh, the fresh out doors.
Yakima River.
Are they flowers or weeds? I think they are flowers but around here they consider them weeds. I know people back in Utah ( me included) that pays good money to plant these in their yard but not here, they mow them down so they won't spread.
A little quiet time for the horses. Now that the busy season has begun the horses spend a lot of time doing trail rides.
The high light of the month of June was having the Nelson family come and see us. Here is little Ellsie just waking up in the morning.
Jed had fun playing in all the old trucks here on the Ranch.
Jaxon is such a cutie.
So is Mandy.
Grandpa and Ellsie.
Another "flower"
Well, that's about all I can say about June. It has been a good month. I am starting to feel a bit more confident with the things in the office, the weather is getting warmer, our family came to see us and they will all be coming to see us again in a month. Can't get much better than that. The Lord has blessed us so much. We are thankful to be here serving our mission on the Ensign Ranch. And look forward to the time we have ahead of us to serve. We miss our dear family so much and pray that Heavenly Father will watch over them all each day.
On June 13, 2010 at approximately 3:30 PM Mandy, Jed, Jaxon, Ellsie and Josh came for a visit. To say we were excited to see them would be an understatement! Here are a few pictures of our fun two days.
Ellsie enjoying one of Mandy's delecious chocolate chip cookies.
Being crazy as usual.
checking out the inside of one of the Tepees. I think Ellsie was doing a rain dance.
A walk with grandpa around Crabtree lake.
Feeding the horses. Ellsie was a bit apprehensive and kept loosing her carrot.
This horse wanted to see what Jaxon's head would taste like.
Elder G getting the horses ready for a ride.
Elder G giving Jaxon very important instructions.
Up you go.
Jed giving Jaxon a led ride.
Jaxon and Mandy.
Josh, what a natural horseman.
Ellsie wouldn't ride the horses but she was happy riding the tractor with grandpa.
Like father like son.
All tuckered out.
A cute picture of Mandy and Josh.
We had such a fun visit. It was really hard to say good bye. I miss them already.
On June 9th we went to a Levenworth. It is a cute little town that has followed the theme of the high Alpine, Swiss Alps. There are lots of fun shops to explore and goodies to sample.Levenworth, Washington A new friend, he's had a bit too many chocolates.
We went to a fun hat shop and tried on a few things. We were the only ones in the store so we tried on all kinds of silly things and took each others picture. It was fun.
Harry's shiner goes well with this hat.
Quiet in the library please!
Anybody know a good barber!
A sweet little vikingette
Harry, you have a few nose hairs that need a little attention.
On our P day we were able to go with the Dunkleys to Seattle. I am glad we went with them because Diana grew up there so she knew where to go, how to get there and what to do once we got there. A view from the front window of the car. In the middle of the picture you can see the space needle, this is as close as we got to it. That will have to be another day's adventure I guess. How many people does it take to figure out the parking meter?
Our first stop was PIKE PLACE PUBLIC MARKET. There are tons of stores all over the place, we just barley scratched the surface.
Molly would have loved this place.
The big gold piggy bank.
This is a famous fish market, when ever someone buys a fish the men that work there throw the fish around at each other and hoop and holler. It's quite the sight. Talk about having fun at work.
Pretty expensive!
These fishes were huge.
I don't know what in the world this is.
These guys were making donuts, you can stand there and watch them and then indulge.
Harry, enjoying a hot out of the oil donut.....Delicious!
Next we took a walk on the beach
The seagulls are very friendly and tame.
We had fish and chips at Spuds. It was Delicious.
The view from Spuds.
After we ate we took a ferry ride over to Vashon Island. Sammy Knotts served on his mission for a while on this island. It was a really pretty place. It cost us $40.00 for our car load of people to ride the ferry! It only took about 20 minutes to cross. It's the only way to get to the island.
Harry enjoying the ferry ride.
There were alot of barges out in the water. I thought they were carrying big boxes but they were really rail road cars. That tells you how huge they were.
Out little group on Vashon Island. Left to right..Harry, Blake Dunkley, Me, Brock Ball, Diana Dunkley and Ralph Dunkley.
Here we are.
There were lots of little crabs.
My collection of shells I found on Vashon Island.
I bought this old recipe box at Pikes place. I had fun going through the old recipes.
I also found this little old book, I though it was cute. Anyway we sure had a fun day. I felt like we were on vacation. We sure had a fun day, we didn't get home until 11:00... a little late for missionary standards.
